The new year is in full swing and most companies are completing or have already finished their annual plan. Revenue projections, forecasting and reducing overhead are common must-haves. But, before you seal that plan deal, I ask that you DIG DEEPER.
Does your 2019 strategy afford your team the right RESOURCES allowing them to cultivate their work PASSION into a work culture of HAPPINESS?
Resources on Point
Is your team equipped with the right tools and the right resources to do their best job?
Do you have the right talent and enough human resources to fully support your company goals?
Are you investing in your team’s personal and professional growth?
Your team’s skills are essential to business performance; but, the tools they use in their work also play a huge role. Choosing the right resources can allow for a more streamlined and less stressful workflow.
Alongside having adequate resources, employees also need continuous growth in order to feel fulfilled. When employees feel stagnant, that’s when many start to become disengaged and disgruntled. Consider partnering with a corporate wellness provider to host “lunch and learns” where the topic covered is one your team is passionate about.
Passion is Enlightenment
Passion drives achievement and gratification. Leading by example, with motivation and ambition is infectious. If you as a company leader are passionate, your team will follow suit.
Subsidizing education for team members who want to take classes, purchase online courses, or attend industry conferences to improve their skills is a great way to ignite employee passion.
Employees will love what they do when they feel fully supported, capable in their roles and when their team rallies together. They appreciate recognition of even their little successes and thrive when they feel respected, appreciated and recognized. A simple “thank you” can do wonders for keeping their passion alive.
Happy Work Culture
Employee happiness is by far the most important trait a company leader should keep dibs on.
You spend a chunk of your waking hours at the office, shouldn’t that time be fulfilling?
Do you know what your office happiness quotient is?
Leadership is key to cultivating a culture of happiness. Communication is the key to their success. Your team wants to be trusted. They want to be given responsibility because it shows that you’re confident in their abilities. Trust means micromanaging less, but also creating accountability to ensure things are getting done.
Create the Shift
Small changes at work can lead to big results. Build trust, incentivize wellness, appreciate employees and implement the other suggestions above to create a happier and more productive workplace. Like positive peer pressure, a company that creates a culture of wellness attracts and retains like-minded people — employees who value a workplace with happy, healthy, productive individuals.
