In the 24-7, always on, work culture that we live in today, workplace wellness is in high demand. So much so that the industry is becoming more intentional, more integrative and much more holistic in its offerings.

Here are 3 of the emerging trends in #workplacewellness:

Trend #1: Multi-dimensional Workplace Wellness Programs

Old School: Wellness programs of late are predominantly focused on Physical Wellness and population health management.

New School: Wellness programs are now including critical dimensions, such as Emotional, Career, Social, Financial, and Community Well-being.

Trend #2: Wider Spectrum of ‘non-traditional’ Wellness Strategies

Old School: Companies using a one-size-fits-all mindset and approach to their workplace wellness delivery.

New School: While more traditional wellness initiatives like health risk assessments and flu shots remain popular among workplaces, there has been growing emphasis on more non-traditional initiatives like mental health coverage, vacation time and tuition reimbursement.

Trend #3: Employee-Driven Wellness Programs

Old School: Workplace wellness programs of the past were cookie cutter, template-formatted programs pushed onto companies through their insurance carriers.

New School: With the increased focus today on cultivating employee engagement in healthier behaviors, lifestyles, and work responsibilities, companies are moving towards employee-created and driven wellness programs.

Where do you fall on the workplace wellness trend? Are you old school or new school? Do you need help making this transition?
