Before retiring from the sport in the summer of 2012, she was able to compete in the US Nationals, as well as represent the USA in Hungary, Japan and Bulgaria. Her final competition was in Las Vegas at the USA Nationals and international competition. This is where she ended her 18 year career with a Silver medal at the USA Nationals. Terri created WYAO Hawaii Corporate Wellness, LLC as a way to partner with companies to provide employee wellness, with the goal of increased productivity, improved moral in the workplace, less sick time usage and eventually reduced health insurance premiums, which in return creates a healthier bottom line for the companies. Terri believes in the power of the human spirit and the ability each one of us possess to make ourselves better.
Kyle brings his knowledge, skills, and abilities to lead to WYAO Hawaii Corporate Wellness to help companies find the best programing to allow for the greatest success. Her health coaching career began early in 2013 at a Sports Physicians practice on the island of Oahu, supporting patients with various health concerns and wellness goals, with the knowledge and implementation of health-promoting lifestyle changes. Before that, Kamala travelled internationally as a competitive bodyboarder and then studied law at the University of Cape Town, earned her Masters in Law degree at the University of Florida and became an attorney, at the largest Human Rights Law Organization in Southern Africa; the Legal Resources Centre.
In 2015, Kamala completed her 200HR Yoga Teacher Training and fulfilled one of her life-long dreams of becoming a yoga teacher. She is always expanding her skill set and expertise and is currently enrolled in the Institute for Integrative Women’s Health Coach Certification program –the world's first and only NCCHWC accredited health coach certification program specifically for women's health.
This diverse background supports Kamala’s integrative, compassionate and nuanced style of wellness coaching. She loves to apply her research and communication skills to the art and science of nutrition, behaviour change and holistic health, so that she can better serve you to reach your goals and live the life you want.
Her passion for helping others with their wellbeing was fuelled by her own health transformation, which included using food and lifestyle modifications to free herself from migraines, the symptoms of PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome), digestive distress, limiting beliefs and yo yo dieting.
Kamala believes that Health is Freedom and that living a healthy life that nourishes your whole body, mind and spirit is your birth right.
In addition to offering coaching and yoga through her business, Kamala Wellness Company, Kamala Collaborates with WYAO Hawaii to oversee and deliver effective wellness education. She also presents her Living Well Lectures and Programs at the Halekulani Hotel, group yoga classes at CorePower Yoga and personalized support on using essential oils to enhance your wellbeing.
